About the Section

   

The Section aims to provide an integrative forum for those involved in research, teaching and applied work that is relevant to the psychology of sexualities, but who, at the moment, are diversely located.

The interests and activities of the Section focuses on research and theory on a wide range of issues relevant to the lives of lesbians and gay men, including: lesbian and gay development across the lifespan, especially lesbian and gay identity development; the establishment and maintenance of lesbian and gay relationships - including couple, family and social relationships - and relationship problems; attitudes towards lesbians and gay men and implications for psychosocial functioning and well-being; lesbian and gay parenting, including lesbian pregnancy, childbirth and child rearing practices; and ethnic and cultural diversity among lesbians and gay men. As well as these content areas, theoretical concerns are also be pursued at both a macro-level and at a topic-specific level.
